Cambridge Little Steps is a three-level, language and early literacy course that creates an atmosphere for children where they can explore and communicate in English while they develop life competencies and learn social values.
Cambridge Little Steps aims to fulfill the all needs of a child to become a kind, creative individual who have all the skills needed to become a confident and effective communicator with an inquiring mind that is able to think laterally and has the most of the requirements of the era.
On the first steps of their journey of life, Cambridge Little Steps develops the life competencies to children such as creative thinking and collaboration, body awareness, active listening and functional language to build communicative confidence.
With the combination of it’s diverse content, child-friendly design and research-informed approach, Cambridge Little Steps creates a better learning environment for children.
Helps children to develop rich vocabulary and emotional competencies through literature.
Big Questions of Little Steps aim to activate the natural curiosity of children and encourage them to think and analyze real-life topics from different angles. Questions motivate them to think, recall, understand, analyse and evaluate stories. This leads children connect with text on a deeper level
Stories are also a vehicle for Emotional development and values. After the reading a story, children have an opportunity to reflect on the actions and emotions of the characters in the story and try and relate them to their own experience.
Cambridge Little Steps gives motivation to appreciate literature.
With Cambridge Little Steps children gain foundations for learning to read: alphabet knowledge, print and phonological awareness. This is the result of a strong Phonics programme, realised through a dedicated Phonics Book and Decodable Readers to help students to notice print, recognize the letters of the alphabet, letter sounds, and distinguish them from each other. They hear and recognise phonemes and words
Cambridge Little Steps provides development for oracy, which is the skills of speaking confidently in a variety of situations, from presenting in front of an audience to collaborating with others. In Little Steps, early oracy is far more than just speaking. It also means strong physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills.
With concept lessons and CLIL sections, children are introduced to the key concepts for early childhood development, such as shapes, size, colors, opposites etc.
