CAMBRIDGE GRAMMAR AND WRITING SKILLS
Cambridge Grammar and Writing Skills is a nine level course which is for ages 5-14. The series covers primary (stages 1-6) and lower secondary (stages 7-9). It includes a learner’s book for each stage and three teacher’s resources for stages 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9.
It is suitable for all students studying in English, providing valuable support for first language learners and supporting second language learners to bridge the gap to first language level, whether they are already on an FLE programme or preparing to move over to one.
The series is the ideal support for our Global English, Primary English and Checkpoint English courses and is helpfully mapped to both the Cambridge International English and English as a second language curriculum frameworks at primary and lower secondary level.
Each unit follows the same structured approach to the writing task and includes tools like mind maps and planning scaffolds to help students develop an effective approach to extended writing. Learners become more comfortable with extended writing tasks.
The approach the series takes encourages students to take an active approach, engaging with and analysing model texts. We have also included plenty of opportunities for reflection, self-assessment and peer evaluation.
Grammar and Writing series focuses specifically on developing extended writing and writing for a range of purposes, key skills students often struggle with. This is particularly true for students following an ESL course, understandably because extended writing is the most demanding of English skills.
Grammar and Writing is specifically aimed at bridging the gap between ESL and FLE levels.
